The Alberta College of Paramedics regulates the paramedicine profession in accordance with the Health Professions Act.

Under the Health Professions Act (HPA), all regulated professions have a set of regulations that speak specifically to requirements of that profession.

Member Consultation

Part of every member’s responsibility to co-regulation is to consult on aspects of practice that affect the profession. The College is required to consult with members on two main areas:

  1. Changes or additions to Standards of Practice
  2. Changes or additions to the Code of Ethics

Your involvement in this process ensures any changes or additions are reasonable and applicable to your practice. It helps the College identify any areas where members would have difficulty implementing a certain change or addition and keeps you an active participant in the governance of your profession.
