Hello everyone and thanks to those of you who joined us live at the AMM on May 15. This has been our sixth virtual meeting I think it was the best one yet. We were thrilled with all the questions and engagement on the latest updates for our profession.

Almost 800 members registered and over 100 participants in Pigeonhole asking and voting on questions. We received a total of 49 questions and over 190 votes on them. 36 questions were answered live and the remaining will be answered in the June Pulse.

For those who were unable to attend and haven’t had a chance to watch yet, here is a brief overview of what was discussed:

Council President, Harrison Stein, kicked off the event and discussed some important Council updates. Currently, the Selection Committee is interviewing candidates for three Council vacancies. 25 applications were received and the appointed members will be announced in June. Harrison shared some personal insights into the change between elections to appointments as he has personal experience through both avenues

On the operational side, I provided updates on several College initiatives including the challenges coins, legislation changes and the Learning Management System (LMS). I also offered some insights on the recent Member Survey including addressing some feedback we received. The full report will be shared this summer.

Finally, Tim completed the presentation portion of the AMM with providing some important regulatory information. This included changes to upcoming renewal and insights on the CC audits. The majority of his presentation focused on two foundational changes to paramedicine which were the education curriculum restructuring and introduction of the Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) title.

The Q&A period was filled with thoughtful and insightful questions which led to some very dynamic discussions.

As always, the AMM is available to view after the event until the end of this registration year. You can watch and answer the participation questions to receive a CC certificate and claim 6 CE credits.

To close, I would like to share how proud I am to be part of supporting this profession and all our regulated members. There is something to be said about the dedication and motivation each of you show. If this AMM proves anything, it shows how invested you are in the idea of ‘what comes next’. It is very encouraging to read your questions and thoughts about the progress that is being made. Your engagement is not only valued, but also essential. It helps guide the decisions we make and strengthens the direction we move in together as a profession. Thank you for your continued commitment.
