Hello everyone, I hope you have all had a fulfilling start to 2025. I would like to take this opportunity to share some reminders of ongoing activities happening at the College.

As you may remember, in December of 2024 we announced Council’s decision to reduce member fees in two areas. The Reinstatement fee was reduced from $400.00 to $200.00 and the Member Registration Change fee of $50.00 was waived entirely, meaning there is no longer a fee to change your designation from EMR to PCP and PCP to ACP. We are glad to see these changes go into effect, knowing that they reflect our continued commitment to staying aligned with our members’ needs.

If you want to be involved in future positive change, Council recruitment is coming up soon. The Council table is made up of dedicated regulated members and public members who share a deep passion for this profession and the impact it has in our province. This year, we have two, three-year terms open. On April 1, the call for applications will be emailed to all members. Interested candidates will have until the recruitment period closes on April 15 to complete the application form and submit their resume for consideration. All applications will be pre-screened by a third-party, independent HR firm and all shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.

Joining Council is an important and engaging opportunity to give back to your community and lend your voice to the decisions that will continue to shape the future of this profession; I strongly encourage you to apply.

As well, I am excited to announce that April 1 marks the 25th anniversary of the Alberta College of Paramedics officially becoming a regulatory college. A new project to celebrate this milestone is in the works, and we are looking forward to sharing further news.

If you have any questions about Council applications, please email communications@ABparamedics.com.

Sincerely,

Wendy Dugas, CEO
