First off, I would like to say I’m thrilled to get to put out my first Deputy Registrar message and share a few minutes with all of you. Since I started in April, it has been a large learning curve but one I’ve enjoyed thoroughly. There are a lot of great things happening behind the scenes which I’m excited to get to share soon. To those of you I have had the pleasure of chatting with, thanks for taking the time to share your experiences and thoughts with me and I hope I get the chance to connect with more of you soon.
I would also like to take a moment to extend my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the remarkable work you do every day. Your unwavering commitment and selfless dedication ensure that Albertans receive the highest standard of care in their most critical moments. The work you perform often goes beyond the call of duty, and it’s important to recognize the profound impact you have on the lives of those you help. In the midst of your busy schedules and demanding responsibilities, I hope you have had the opportunity to spend quality time with your loved ones this summer. Balancing work with personal time is essential, and I encourage you to continue finding moments to connect with family and friends. Cherishing these moments is not only rewarding but also crucial for maintaining a well-rounded and healthy life.
As you all should be aware, we are in the middle of renewal. So far, things are moving along great. We are on a similar trend for completed renewals compared to last year at this time. To ensure a smooth process, please complete your applications, including payment by 4 pm on September 30.
A large part of completing the renewal application is declaring your Continuing Competence for the year. For anyone who still needs to meet their credit requirement, please check out the free and online CE activities available on the website. These courses offer a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge, keeping you at the forefront of our field. We encourage you to explore these resources and take full advantage of the learning opportunities they provide. We have also recently published a list of activities that are great last minute options.
Lastly, I want to take a moment to emphasize the importance of looking after your mental health and overall well-being. The demanding nature of our work can take a toll, so it’s vital to prioritize self-care and seek support when needed. Maintaining your health is not only beneficial for you but also ensures that you can continue to provide exceptional care to others. Your well-being is vital to do the work you do.
If you have any questions or need assistance with the renewal process, please do not hesitate to reach out.
With sincere appreciation,
Rhea Bell,
Deputy Registrar
