In June 2020, the Alberta College of Paramedics Council approved the Canadian Organization of Paramedic Regulators (COPR) as the official registration exam to gain registration in Alberta. In doing so, it was also identified that this would provide an opportunity for Alberta to be a forward-thinking leader in the paramedic profession at a national level. Since combining efforts last summer, COPR and the College have worked in collaboration on helping get a national EMR exam established and are now working in partnership with other jurisdictions across Canada to identify a national standard of care for paramedics across the country. To learn more about COPR, take a look at the Annual Report for a greater understanding of the work that has been done over the past year.
