Renewal is quickly approaching, and each member has requirements they must meet to successfully complete the renewal process. Every year, members reach out with questions about what to do if they are on leave from the profession.

Most renewal requirements still apply to all members, even while on leave. This includes completing the renewal application and payment prior to the deadline of 4pm on September 30. If a member does not want to remain registered while on leave, they do not have to complete any renewal requirements.

If you want to remain registered but are faced with mental or physical incapacity while on leave that prohibits you from completing any Continuing Competence requirements, you can submit a request for CC credit adjustment to our CC department. Members submitting the request for a credit adjustment form must currently be on leave from the profession or have previously been on leave at any point during the current registration year. This does not include a change in practice setting or reduced duties.

Below is a flowchart which can help you determine whether you fit the criteria for submitting the form. The Leave from Practice CC Credit Adjustment form can be submitted until September 15.

If you have any questions or concerns about the form, please contact our CC department at CC@ABparamedics.com
