Welcome to the first issue of the Industrial EMS eNews

As part of our continued commitment to supporting Alberta’s EMRs, paramedics and their employers, we are pleased to introduce the first edition of our Industry Newsletter, a resource designed specifically for employers and staff working in industrial and occupational settings.

This newsletter will be published three times per year, in April, August and December, and will serve as a connection point between the Alberta College of Paramedics and the industry professionals who play an essential role in providing high-quality care across the province. Each edition will bring you timely updates, reminders and insights to help keep you and your teams informed, engaged and supported.

You can expect to find:

  • Important reminders about renewal deadlines and registration requirements.
  • Continuing competence opportunities and professional development highlights.
  • Contact information and updates from our Registration and Practice Departments.
  • Announcements about events, learning resources and regulatory initiatives.
  • A Q&A feature where we answer questions submitted by employers and practitioners in the field.

Our goal is to make this newsletter a practical and informative tool that helps bridge communication between the College and our valued industry partners. We recognize that employers play a vital role in supporting paramedics at all stages of their careers, and we want to ensure you have the information and resources you need to navigate regulatory processes and support safe, effective practice.

This inaugural issue features a special focus on the Employer Portal, which is a resource built to simplify your interactions with the College. The portal allows approved industry employers to securely access information, verify registration status and manage employment-related documentation in a more efficient and transparent way. We encourage all industry employers to explore the portal and take advantage of its features to streamline administrative processes and ensure compliance.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to all the employers who took the time to participate in our recent Industry Employer Survey a few months back. Your input has been instrumental in shaping this newsletter and identifying topics that matter most to you. The feedback we received will continue to guide how we develop content, resources and communication strategies to best support the needs of the industrial paramedic sector.
